What a fun day. It was cold and rainy just like it was ten years ago.
We celebrated it like most couples do.
Bryan went to work early, and got home just in time to get a quick bite to eat, jump into his suit, and head to the church by 7pm for another 3 hours of service.
But before he left for work at 6:30am, he did manage to whisper some sweet nothings into my ear. "Honey, I am on my last pair of underware. Were you planning on doing laundry today?" So
I spent the day collecting, sorting, cleaning, and folding the mountains of laundry that had been accumulating from the past two weeks. I can't remember what had happened the weeks before, that had led up to the house work being neglected for so long. Unfortunately the kitchen and bathrooms were also in need of some attention. There was no time for a shower. Callie played in the wet sand outside and I just didn't get around to putting another outfit on her yet.
Bryan did get sentimental with the girls during the few minutes he was home between work and church. He asked the girls if they wanted to have me try on my wedding dress.
So here we are in the above picture. Me with no shower, my wedding dress on, but not zipped up in the back because of an expanded ribcage after having babies, Callie in a diaper, and all of us standing in the only clean room in the house.
Even though that was one more thing to add to my list of things to clean up and put away, it was fun to do because it made me take a moment to look back on how far we have come over those last ten years. We are so grateful for everything and know we are blessed to even have those messes to clean up.
It makes me think back to the summer of 1994, before I had even met Bryan. The only thoughts that occupied my mind were........
"I've been dreaming of a True Loves Kiss!"
(Yes, that is me on top of the bridge, in the middle, in Central Park.)
