June 11, 2008 10 Year Anniversary

What a fun day. It was cold and rainy just like it was ten years ago.

We celebrated it like most couples do.

Bryan went to work early, and got home just in time to get a quick bite to eat, jump into his suit, and head to the church by 7pm for another 3 hours of service.

But before he left for work at 6:30am, he did manage to whisper some sweet nothings into my ear. "Honey, I am on my last pair of underware. Were you planning on doing laundry today?" So
I spent the day collecting, sorting, cleaning, and folding the mountains of laundry that had been accumulating from the past two weeks. I can't remember what had happened the weeks before, that had led up to the house work being neglected for so long. Unfortunately the kitchen and bathrooms were also in need of some attention. There was no time for a shower. Callie played in the wet sand outside and I just didn't get around to putting another outfit on her yet.

Bryan did get sentimental with the girls during the few minutes he was home between work and church. He asked the girls if they wanted to have me try on my wedding dress.

So here we are in the above picture. Me with no shower, my wedding dress on, but not zipped up in the back because of an expanded ribcage after having babies, Callie in a diaper, and all of us standing in the only clean room in the house.

Even though that was one more thing to add to my list of things to clean up and put away, it was fun to do because it made me take a moment to look back on how far we have come over those last ten years. We are so grateful for everything and know we are blessed to even have those messes to clean up.

It makes me think back to the summer of 1994, before I had even met Bryan. The only thoughts that occupied my mind were........

"I've been dreaming of a True Loves Kiss!"

(Yes, that is me on top of the bridge, in the middle, in Central Park.)

Rainy Day

Every time it rains, Annika and Corinne like to go out and play in the rain. They usually take the time to get their swimsuits on, and get their umbrella's. It was cold that day, so they also wanted a towel.

This was Callie's first time to join in the fun while it was raining. She loved it, p.j.'s and all.

Reasons for being a bad bloger

1. I felt that projects I started over a year ago should get done first. I bought fabric to make curtains for the great room, and I just put them up last week.
2. We bought a new camera last December and a very big memory card to go with it. Not too long ago, we installed the software and it has taken awhile to figure out how everything works.
3. The twins started 1st grade a month ago, and I now have 2 uninterrupted hours while Callie takes a nap to get caught up on things: bills, laundry, deep cleaning, paper work, phone calls, HGTV, and other little nit picky things I had to put off ever since Callie started crawling.
Time still seem to slip away from us. Notice the time of this posting.

Hopefully I will get caught up with my postings in the next couple of weeks. Enjoy our history for right now. Current events may,........or may not come next week.

Would anyone else like to bet dinner that we will not check our own blog by next week. We love going out to eat.

More New York Fun

We happened to be in NY when they were premiering the upcoming season on NBC.
It was fun to watch and see who was going to be nice and genuine, or snooty.
Nice

Nice and very sure of herself

Very Snooty. I didn't get a picture of it, but he had to bring his puppy with him. Notice the red leash. Maybe it was his fashion statement.

My New York Trip

Check out all these famous people I saw. Can you name them?

Hello Jimmy.

I know this picture is blury, but that hair style says it all.

I really don't know who this is, I just took the picture.

Hint: If you have seen Bryan's favorite movie "Pure Country", than you know who the lady in purple is.

Goodbye training wheels

It all happened so fast.
By the time I realised what Bryan and the girls were doing, I ran to grab my camera, and that was it. They were already experts.
Bryan held on to the back of Annika's bike for the length of one house, and even that was too much help. She was practically dragging him along.

Corinne needed help down the street and back and that was it for her.

Bryan is also responsible for teaching this 1 1/2 year old how to push the peddle down on our neighbors' battery operated 4-wheeler. Steering the thing, I guess, is up to me. It has been a fun summer!

Spongebob, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Still can't get enough of it.

Fun messes

Callie broke one of the girls glass tea cups on the downstairs bathroom tile. I just cleaned it up only to come upstairs to find this fun mess.
This happened on April 1st. Both messes were no April fools.

Annika's Big Decision

Last Friday we took the girls up to the cemetary to see Great Grandpa grave. It was a special time for them to "say hello" to Great Grandpa. Because of the strong wind, they felt it was their duty to pick up the mums and other flowers on the neighboring graves that had blown over. Before we left, they wanted to sing "I love to see the temple" for Great Grandpa. It was awesome.

Because it was late, we decided to stop at Fashion Place for dinner. The girls got a hot dog on a stick. I decided to take them to Claire's to see what was new. Their heads about spin off their necks because of all of the Prinecess and Hanna Montana stuff. As we were walking around the store Annika asked me to bend over so she could ask me a question. "Dad, can I get my ears pierced?" We had thought to wait until they twins were eight to do it, but if they, out of their own desire, want to get them done, we would support them.

Claire's was not doing it that night, but a small kiosk in the middle of the mall was. We took both of the girls down to the kiosk to see the cost. Fortunately, an older girls was getting hers done when we arrived. When the worker pulled the trigger, Annika jumped. However she still was determined. We asked them if they could do both of the ears at the same time because we were not sure that she would follow though with the second one after feeling the pain of the first. Patricia was ready to assist and give loves after it was done. I took a few pictures with my phone for posterity.

Right when the guns snapped Annika let out a little yelp and Corinne turned to me and said "Daddy, I think I will wait until I am eight."
Enjoy the pictures.

Patricia is finally here! YEA!

Here is an "old" picture (5 months old) of us at Disney World. We told the girls before we went that if they saved their money in the piggy bank, we would go. Well, they did that, and I made the mistake of not emptying it before we went. The piggy bank was half full at the time, and now that it is almost full, I have heard them talking several times to themselves saying "The piggy bank is almost full, and that means we get to go to Disney World again". I am afraid we will have to have a serious talk about that real soon.

Brotherly Beatdown

I did not know that I could take such a beating on my own blog. I just explained to Patricia that we do have a blog and that we need to post comments and pictures or nobody will look.
In the meantime, please enjoy this picture of Jimmie Johnson doing a victory burnout last month at at Phoenix with Dad, Jonathan, Tyler, Lindsay and me all present. What a great night!

Ruining the Randomness

Hello to our beloved family...
Patricia and I finally decided to join the blogging world. It was a little lonely being the only ones without a blog on the Curtis Cove blog. Patricia is in NYC for the week and I am home with the girls. Hope to get you some pictures soon.
For all of your benefit, Patricia put her foot down on a NASCAR themed blog. So I felt that the title "Ruining the Randomness" best describes the adventures of our family.
Please enjoy...
